Russia to Showcase Record Number of Defense Systems at Dubai Airshow 2025

Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport will present its largest-ever lineup of defense systems at the Dubai Airshow 2025, marking a significant expansion of the country’s presence in the global aerospace and defense market. The event, scheduled from 17 to 21 November, will feature more than 850 Russian military, aerospace, and dual-use technologies, including over 30 full-scale systems displayed publicly for the first time.

Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev said the Dubai Airshow remains one of the leading platforms shaping global defense trends. This year, the Russian pavilion covers 1,000 square meters and brings together major defense enterprises including the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), United Engine Corporation, Radio-Electronic Technologies Concern, Almaz-Antey, and the Tactical Missiles Corporation.

Su-57E Fighter to Make Regional Debut

A key highlight of Russia’s participation is the Su-57E fifth-generation fighter aircraft, which will be unveiled in the Middle East for the first time. The jet will be featured in both the static display and the flight demonstration program.

Rosoboronexport has emphasized that Russia is the only supplier offering the Su-57E with a full localization package, enabling foreign customers to produce components or assemble the aircraft domestically. The presentation will also include advanced air-launched weapons integrated with the Su-57E, such as:

  • RVV-MD2 air-to-air missile

  • Kh-38MLE, Kh-69, and Grom-E1 precision weapons

  • Kh-58UShKE anti-radar missile

  • RVV-BD long-range air-to-air missile

These systems are optimized for internal carriage, supporting the aircraft’s low observable characteristics.

Yak-130M Combat Trainer Makes Global Premiere

The airshow will host the world debut of the Yak-130M, an upgraded combat trainer featuring next-generation avionics, an onboard radar, targeting pod, and the President-S130 electronic warfare suite. The aircraft is now configured to operate as a light fighter capable of air-to-ground and air-to-air missions.

Its modernized weapons suite includes:

  • RVV-MD short-range missile

  • KAB-250LG-E laser-guided bomb

  • K08BE precision-guided bomb

Major Russian Aircraft and Helicopters on Display

Russia’s static exhibit will also include:

  • IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, offering a payload capacity of up to 60 tons over 4,000 km

  • Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopter, featuring its well-known coaxial rotor system and advanced maneuverability

The Ka-52 demonstration will be supported by a range of precision weapons, including the Kh-MD, Kh-38MLE, and the combat-proven 305E guided missile.

Advanced UAVs and Loitering Munitions Highlight Russia’s Drone Portfolio

Rosoboronexport will display several UAV systems, including:

  • Orlan-10E

  • Orlan-30

  • Skat-350M

Russia will also showcase its newest loitering munitions, led by the upgraded Lancet-E, described as one of the world’s most widely used attack drones in active conflict zones. The KUB-2-2E loitering munition with automatic guidance will also be featured.

Full-Scale Air Defense Systems Displayed for the First Time

For the first time, Russia will showcase complete air defense systems at the Dubai Airshow, including:

  • Pantsir-SMD-E short-range SAM system

  • Verba MANPADS

  • Dzhigit launcher

  • SKVP airspace control system for UAV and low-altitude threat detection

The Pantsir-SMD-E features a modular design and supports mixed missile loads, offering flexibility against modern aerial threats such as drones and precision weapons.

Technology Cooperation to Dominate Business Agenda

Rosoboronexport expects extensive meetings with delegations from the Middle East, North Africa, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America. The company will prioritize technology cooperation, including co-production, localized manufacturing, and joint research programs.

Mikheev noted that technology partnerships have become the “most in-demand” model for international defense collaboration and will form the core of Russia’s discussions during the show.
