EDGE Showcases Industry 4.0 Defense Manufacturing Progress at Make It in the Emirates 2026

admin April 28, 2026

EDGE Group, one of the UAE’s leading advanced technology and defense conglomerates, is set to highlight major milestones in defense manufacturing, supply chain localization, and Industry 4.0 transformation during its participation as an Enablement Partner at Make It in the Emirates (MIITE) 2026 in Abu Dhabi.

The announcement underscores EDGE’s growing role in strengthening the UAE’s defense industrial base and national security capabilities, aligned with the government’s Operation 300bn initiative. The group reported a record order intake of USD 7.96 billion in 2025, alongside a current order backlog of USD 20.4 billion, reflecting strong global demand for its advanced defense solutions.

Industry 4.0 Driving Defense Manufacturing Growth

EDGE has accelerated its adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, completing over 68 transformation projects across 28 production facilities. These initiatives have significantly enhanced operational efficiency, doubling production capacity across 13 entities within the group.

The company has also integrated artificial intelligence into manufacturing processes, enabling smarter production cycles, improved supply chain visibility, and enhanced responsiveness to evolving defense requirements. This shift positions EDGE at the forefront of next-generation defense manufacturing and digital transformation.

Strengthening Localisation and Supply Chain Resilience

A key pillar of EDGE’s strategy is supply chain localization, with more than 80% of its systems now manufactured within the UAE, reinforcing national industrial sovereignty.

In 2025 alone, EDGE generated approximately AED 596 million (USD 162.4 million) in in-country value, demonstrating its contribution to the domestic economy and long-term industrial sustainability.

Senior leadership emphasized that the group’s progress reflects a sustained commitment to building a resilient and scalable defense ecosystem capable of meeting both national and international demand.

Talent Development and Innovation Initiatives

EDGE continues to invest heavily in human capital and innovation, with its BRIDGE program—focused on industrialization and operational excellence—having trained over 5,276 professionals in Industry 4.0 technologies to date.

During MIITE 2026, the group will launch “Innovate to Defend by EDGE,” a new initiative aimed at fostering innovation and encouraging solution-driven contributions to national security challenges. The program will offer participants pathways to develop and integrate their ideas into EDGE’s industrial ecosystem.

Additionally, EDGE will introduce a project-based engineering talent platform, enabling professionals to engage in flexible, high-impact programs across advanced technology domains.

Strategic Engagement at MIITE 2026

EDGE’s leadership will actively participate in the event’s high-level discussions, addressing key themes such as industrial resilience, supply chain security, and national defense strategy.

The company will exhibit its capabilities at Stand #7-EN33 at ADNEC from 4–7 May 2026, providing stakeholders with insights into its latest innovations in defense technologies and manufacturing systems.
