HAVELSAN Validates Network-Centric Warfare Capability on TCG ANADOLU Ahead of Major NATO Exercise

admin February 24, 2026

Turkish defense technology firm HAVELSAN has successfully completed the onboard software integration of its advanced ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) and FleetStar Ship Data Distribution System (SDDS) on TCG ANADOLU, the largest vessel in the Turkish Navy, marking a significant milestone in the operational deployment of network-centric naval warfare capabilities.

The integration, finalized ahead of the multinational Steadfast Dart 2026 Exercise, operationally validated HAVELSAN’s digital command-and-control architecture on a frontline amphibious platform, demonstrating its readiness for real-world joint and coalition maritime operations.

Integrated Digital Battlespace Architecture

Developed using operational insights from the Turkish Naval Forces, the network-enabled ADVENT CMS and FleetStar SDDS provide advanced data management, sensor fusion, and command-and-control functionality. The architecture consolidates information from multiple sensors and platforms into a unified operational picture, improving situational awareness, coordination, and decision-making speed during complex naval missions.

A key milestone achieved during the integration was the successful verification of bi-directional data exchange between the ADVENT CMS and the Bayraktar TB3 unmanned aerial vehicle, enabling direct transmission of imagery and mission data from the UAV to the ship’s combat management system. This capability significantly shortens command-and-control decision cycles while enhancing mission responsiveness.

Enhanced Interoperability Across Naval Task Groups

The network-centric architecture allows data collected by the TB3 UAV to be shared not only with TCG ANADOLU but also with other vessels within a naval task group. This feature strengthens interoperability and coordinates operations by ensuring all participating platforms operate from a synchronized tactical picture.

Within the integrated framework, ADVENT CMS functions as the core command node of the vessel, unifying radar, sonar, electronic warfare systems, and weapons under a single architecture, while FleetStar acts as the system’s real-time data distribution backbone. The CMS can also calculate the UAV’s relative position and approach geometry in real time, supporting safe and coordinated manned-unmanned operations.

Strategic Significance

The successful completion of the integration underscores the maturity of HAVELSAN’s holistic digital warfare approach, which merges manned and unmanned assets within a single operational ecosystem. The ADVENT–FleetStar architecture is positioned as a next-generation solution tailored to the interoperability, data fusion, and network-centric warfare requirements of modern naval forces.
