HAVELSAN Unveils ADVENT-AI at SAHA Expo 2026, Marking a New Era in AI-Driven Naval Combat Management

admin May 9, 2026

Turkish defense technology company HAVELSAN has officially introduced its next-generation artificial intelligence capability, ADVENT-AI, at SAHA Expo 2026, developed in collaboration with the Turkish Naval Forces Command’s ARMERKOM. The unveiling marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the ADVENT Combat Management System, positioning AI as a structured decision-support layer within modern naval operations.

Built on the existing ADVENT Combat Management System framework, ADVENT-AI represents an AI-enabled operational enhancement designed to improve situational awareness, accelerate decision cycles, and strengthen response capability in increasingly complex and asymmetric maritime threat environments. Rather than functioning as a standalone system, it integrates directly into the combat ecosystem, enabling continuous interpretation and prioritization of tactical data.

At its core, ADVENT-AI introduces real-time data fusion and intelligent analysis across multiple sensor streams. The system applies advanced anomaly detection at track level, allowing early identification of irregular patterns that may indicate emerging threats. This capability is intended to reduce operator workload while improving early warning effectiveness in high-tempo operational scenarios.

A key feature of the system is its AI-supported tactical picture generation, which consolidates fragmented battlefield data into a single structured operational view. This reduces the need for manual cross-checking across multiple data layers and supports clearer, faster, and more informed decision-making in contested environments, including conditions affected by electronic warfare and communication disruption.

ADVENT-AI also introduces predictive engagement support models designed to assist operators during targeting and firing phases. These models aim to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency by offering probability-based estimations, while maintaining human authority over final engagement decisions.

In addition, the system incorporates a voice-assisted interface, enabling operators to interact using natural speech commands. This feature is designed to reduce cognitive and manual workload, particularly in time-critical situations where rapid response is essential. A background monitoring layer continuously evaluates system performance to support operational readiness and stability.

The architecture of ADVENT-AI is modular and scalable, allowing artificial intelligence functions to be incrementally deployed across various platforms. This includes ongoing testing on unmanned naval systems, with broader integration planned under a phased modernization roadmap. Importantly, HAVELSAN emphasizes that ADVENT-AI is built under a human-in-the-loop concept, ensuring that AI serves as a decision-support tool rather than an autonomous decision-maker.

Speaking at the launch, HAVELSAN CEO Mehmet Akif Nacar stated that the system is designed to enhance operator performance rather than replace human judgment, highlighting the company’s focus on reliability, speed, and operational resilience in modern defense environments.

With ADVENT-AI, HAVELSAN strengthens its position in AI-enabled defense systems, advancing toward a new generation of intelligent combat management platforms designed for multi-domain, data-intensive warfare environments.
