Omantel has announced the launch of its new AI Centre of Excellence, a strategic platform designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced artificial intelligence technologies and support the development of scalable AI-driven digital solutions across multiple industries.
The initiative forms part of Omantel’s broader “Everyone AI” strategy, which aims to strengthen Oman’s digital ecosystem by enabling the practical implementation of AI technologies while supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
According to the company, the AI Centre of Excellence integrates advanced digital infrastructure, operational expertise, innovation capabilities, and data-driven environments to facilitate scalable and commercially viable AI applications across sectors including telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, energy, and government services.
Omantel Introduces AI Startups Program
As part of the initiative, Omantel also launched its new AI Startups Program, a strategic platform designed to connect technology startups with Omantel’s internal operational ecosystem to accelerate the co-development and commercialization of AI-enabled products and services.
The program currently includes startups supported through Omantel Innovation Labs, including:
- Decoil
- Remedy
- ORKI
- DeepAstra
- Wiya
Through the initiative, participating startups will gain access to Omantel’s infrastructure, integrated data environments, technical expertise, and regional and international partnership network to support product development and expansion into high-growth markets.
The company stated that the program aims to help startups transition from experimentation phases to scalable commercial operations capable of competing at both regional and global levels.
Omantel Strengthens Oman’s AI and Innovation Ecosystem
Commenting on the launch, Aladdin Baitfadhil, Chief Executive Officer of Omantel, said the initiative reflects the company’s long-term vision for AI-enabled digital transformation.
“Omantel’s ‘Everyone AI’ strategy represents an ambitious vision to drive the practical and scalable adoption of artificial intelligence in a way that supports digital transformation and creates sustainable value,” Baitfadhil stated.
