Britain has imposed sanctions on Iranian oil magnate Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani and four associated companies under its Iran sanctions regime.
According to the UK Foreign Office, Shamkhani and the entities—operating in the shipping, petrochemical, and financial sectors—form part of a network that supports Tehran’s overseas activities, including alleged destabilization efforts in Ukraine and Israel.
The sanctions, announced on Thursday, include an asset freeze targeting Shamkhani and the four firms, as London continues to step up pressure on Iran’s global influence operations.
