Super White Pure Gyr Falcon Sells for SR1.2 Million at Saudi Arabia’s International Falcon Breeders Auction

A rare Super White Pure Gyr falcon stole the spotlight at the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2025, fetching an astonishing SR1.2 million ($320,000) on Saturday night.

The record-breaking sale took place during the eighth night of the auction, hosted by the Saudi Falcons Club in Malham, north of Riyadh. The auction, which runs until Monday, has become one of the region’s most prominent events for falcon enthusiasts and breeders.

Competitive Bidding for Rare Falcons

The evening began with the sale of a Shaheen Gyr Farkh from the UK-based Border Falcons farm for SR28,000, followed by another from Falcon Mews farm that went under the hammer for SR48,000.

The night’s biggest moment came when the US-based RX farm presented its Super White Pure Gyr Farkh. After an intense round of bidding, the falcon sold for SR1.2 million, making it the most expensive bird of the auction so far, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

A Global Falconry Marketplace

The International Falcon Breeders Auction brings together elite falcon farms from Saudi Arabia, the UK, the US, and beyond, offering rare and high-quality birds. The event is designed to support breeders, promote the falconry heritage of the Kingdom, and attract international buyers.

So far, the eighth night alone saw three falcons sold for a combined SR1.276 million. With the auction continuing until Monday, more high-value sales are expected.

Preserving Tradition, Promoting Excellence

Falconry is deeply rooted in Arabian heritage, and Saudi Arabia continues to play a leading role in preserving and advancing the practice. Events like this auction highlight the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting falcon breeders and sustaining one of the world’s oldest traditions.
